Visiting Scholar FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

How do I purchase tickets?

You may purchase tickets online, by mail or in person. Purchase dates for a particular Visiting Scholar event will be posted on the Web site.

  • Online – Go to www.villagepres.org, click Visiting Scholar, and follow the links to purchase online.
  • By mail – Send us the registration form together with your check. If you include a stamped, self-addressed envelope, we will send you the tickets by return mail. Otherwise you may pick up your tickets the night of the event or at the church during normal business hours.
  • In person, come to the Christian Nurture office during normal business hours. If you plan to pick up tickets the night of the event, please arrive at least 30 minutes early.

What is the seating policy?

Seating is first come, first served. The sanctuary at Village Church seats approximately 800 people. The first 800 ticket holders for a particular event will be guaranteed sanctuary seating provided the ticket holder is seated 10 minutes before the event begins. Some of these seats are in the balcony. Video seating in the chapel and in Friendship Hall are available to those ticket holders not guaranteed sanctuary seating.

Is there a deadline for ticket purchase?

Tickets will be sold until the relevant session begins. The advance purchase price is honored until 4 PM the day of the event for a Friday evening session and until the end of the preceding day for a second session of a two-day event.

Where is Village Church?

You can find a map at www.villagepres.org/general/church_map.htm.

Where do I park?

The church parking lots are directly to the north and south of the building.  Due to a school event, parking will not be available at Prairie School Friday evening, April 20.  Parking will be available in all Village Church paring lots.  In addition, you may park at Brighton Gardens (southeast corner of 71st and Mission Road) and use our free shuttle service.  The shuttle will run every few minutes before and after the event (beginning at 6:15pm before the event, ending at 9:45pm afterwards).

Are there any restaurants nearby?

The Prairie Village Shops (www.prairievillageshops.com ) are located about a half-mile mile south of the church. Corinth Square is about 2 miles south ( www.corinthsquare.com).

What about accessibility for persons with disabilities?

We have special parking places, elevators to all levels, accessible restrooms, wheelchairs and hearing aids available. For detailed information, please call 913-671-2381 or e-mail visitingscholar@villagepres.org. All entrances are staffed by greeters who will be able to direct you appropriately.
